Airline-Friendly Pet Carriers
Airline-friendly pet carriers are designed to make traveling with your pets aboard airplanes safe and comfortable. Depending upon airline pet policies, pet carriers may be allowed in the cabin of the aircraft as long as they can be stowed under the seat. Airline pet travel must be arranged in advance, as some airlines limit the number of pets aboard any one aircraft. Additional fees may also apply. Some airline-friendly pet carriers are hard-shell and some are soft-sided. Whichever style suits your needs and airline pet policies, be sure to purchase pet carriers that offer plenty of ventilation. Before you and your pet travel, double-check with the airline about pet carrier size and requirements, and restrictions found in airline pet policies.

Q. When traveling with our 13-year-old male tabby, we normally seclude him in the rear bath of our motorhome with litter box, water and food. He also has a hammock bed but no windows, just a skylight. Bottom line - would he be better off in a carrier up forward with us? -- William C., Winston, GA

Q. Dear Pet Relocation,
What is the process to relocate our cat with us from South Africa to Houston, TX, and is there a quarantine period for cats? What are all the requirements and risk factors? Is it very traumatic for the animal?
We are unsure what type of accommodation we are relocating to as of yet but want to figure out the pet travel details.
