Dog backpacks can be either dog carriers or pet backpacks to be worn by the dog. When it's not convenient for your pooch to walk by itself, such as hiking a steep grade or in a public place, dog backpacks enable you to carry your pet on your back. Dog carriers such as these provide hands-free movement for you in case you need to hold on or are doing something else with your hands. Other pet backpacks permit your dog to carry his own supplies, treats or water.

Ask the Vet
Q. My 11 yr old schnauzer & I moved from Kansas to Colorado. We live in the mountains, 8900 ft. altitude, & in the last three weeks he has started sneezing & nose running which he has never done. Can I give him an adult allergy pill to help dry this up or what would you recommend? He weighs about 18-20 lbs. What is your suggestion? Thank you.
